About Last Night

My writing group holds raffles when, like last night, an agent comes to town. The winner gets a critique from  the agent. Last night, I won the raffle! And then the agent went through a dozen or so opening paragraphs and said she was “intrigued” by mine.

So it could not have been a better night.

I am so ready to dive in and polish those pages and get my proposal perfect. This is the week to do it, while I’m off work. And I’m keeping the same attitude as yesterday: no matter what she says, I win. Because I get expert eyes on my work and an actual critique instead of a form rejection. Or you know, just possibly, she could ask to see the complete manuscript.
