So far, everything in the WIP has been setting up what will happen with the relationships and the murder mystery. As I contemplate how to move my story forward, I’m having the normal little doubts. I’m mostly ignoring them to focus on the big picture of how to lay out Act 2.
At the end of Act 1, someone was killed. So Act 2 is essentially unmasking the murderer. I have some good ideas about how to make finding the killer really puzzling. I have some good ideas for circus twists. How to make the answers all fit together, and how the subplots go with things, well, I am less sure about all of that, although I am keeping the faith.
Maybe I need to buy a book about structuring mysteries? Or would that just be a way to put off actually writing Act 2?
